Cora was born in Hope, Arkansas, to LeeAndrew and Ione Wilburn, and was the cherished sister among eight siblings. She grew up in a home filled with love, laughter, and strong family values—values that she carried with her throughout her life, becoming a shining example to everyone who knew her. She was united in holy matrimony to the love of her life, L.V. Davis, and together they shared a beautiful journey filled with joy, travel, dancing, hosting family gatherings, and creating memories with their lifelong friends. Their love was a testament to the power of unity, partnership, and faith. Cora had a deep passion for cooking, and her kitchen was always filled with the delicious aromas of her most treasured recipes. She loved to share her meals with family and friends, and her cooking became a way to bring people together, creating bonds that lasted a lifetime. In addition to her culinary talents, Cora was an avid gardener. She found deep peace and joy in nurturing her vegetable garden, which flourished as a true reflection of the love, care, and dedication she poured into everything she touched. Her garden was a sanctuary where she cultivated fresh vegetables, and it became a place where memories were sown just as much as the seeds. Many who visited her home were not only awed by the vibrant harvest of her labor, but also had the privilege of tasting the fruits of her hard work, often shared with love around the family table. Above all, Cora cherished the time spent with her family and friends. Whether it was hosting a family gathering, enjoying a quiet afternoon in the garden, or simply sharing a conversation over coffee, Cora’s home was always a place of love and warmth. She was the heartbeat of her family, and her legacy of generosity, laughter, and kindness will forever bloom in our hearts. She was the proud mother of two children: Brenda Steward and Zain Davis. Her legacy lives on through five grandchildren: LaTresa Steward, Embre’ Steward (deceased), Keisha Davis- Peters, Kaichelle Bonner, and Byron Paige; eight great-grandchildren: Keion Steward, Dawnye’ Batchelor, Jeremy Peters, Jade Peters, Jewelz Peters, Jacey Peters, Gabrielle Morris, and Zachary Morris; and five great-great-grandchildren: Kaliyah Aguilar-Steward, Aryana Steward, Blake Onyx Peters, Zain Williams, and Teyana Brigance. She is also survived by two siblings: Joyce Wilson and Hugh P. Wilburn; three sisters-in-law: Francis Johnson, Bessie Davis, and Mary Davis; one brother-in-law: Willie Davis; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will cherish her memory. Cora was preceded in death by her beloved husband, L.V. Davis; son, Zain Davis, grandson Embre’ Steward; sisters, Theona Jackson and Willie C. Wilburn Foreman; and brothers, Gregory Wilburn, Nathanial “Boy” Wilburn, and Willis Lee “Bross” Wilburn.
