Ms. Diana Davis

In Loving Memory of Diana Lynn Davis Diana Lynn Davis was born on March 30, 1967, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Daniel Davis and RoseBud Merriweather. She was the sixth of four sisters and two brothers on her mother’s side and the second of three sisters on her father’s side. Growing up, Diana attended Oklahoma City Public Schools, where she ran track and played basketball. She graduated early from Frederick A. Douglass High School in 1985. Upon graduating, Diana stepped into one of the most important roles of her life being a mother and presumably cared for her daughter. She later continued her education at Metro Tech and obtained an associates in dental hygienist. She worked as a Dietician for Mercy Hospital and Presbyterian OU for most of her working years and later worked as a daycare teacher. Diana loved to travel, listen to R&B music, work out,try new restaurants and watch Law & Order: SVU. She loved the show so much that she would fall asleep watching it and if you wanted to wake her up, all you had to do was turn it off. But above everything else, Diana loved her family. Diana was a hard worker, a hustler, some might say and she always found a way to make things happen, even when they seemed impossible. No matter what life placed in front of her, she kept going. Even as she faced increasing health challenges later in life, Diana continued to show up for the people she loved. She always made space for someone in need and was someone her family and friends knew they could turn to. Throughout her life, Diana formed countless connections. In many ways, she was the bridge that brought people together. Her energy was something you could feel immediately when she entered a room, and her presence left an impression on the people fortunate enough to know her Diana's family extended far beyond blood. Throughout her life, she formed friendships so meaningful that those friends became sisters and brothers to her. She had a way of creating family wherever she went, and she gave that family the same love, loyalty, and support she gave to those closest to her. Diana was a strong woman. Through every challenge, every setback, and every health battle she faced, her strength remained evident. Even during the times when she was fighting battles of her own, she continued to show up and be there for the people she loved. Diana was preceded in death by her mother, RoseBud Merriweather; her father, Daniel Davis; her sisters, Jackie Williams, Peaches Quinn, and Rosemary Nelson; and her brothers , James Merriweather marc Allan Merriweather. Diana leaves to cherish her memory her son, Devin Bruner; her daughter, Dyesha Bell; her granddaughter, Daya Bell; and her sisters, Beverly Johnson, Dana Davis, and Dadrian Davis, Gayla Dubose. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces (Myrna Eason), nephews (Robert Johnson), (Tony Johnson) , extended family members, and friends (Lucretia Lowe) (Kendall Newman) and many more whose lives she touched throughout the years.
