Mr. Steven L. Brice, Sr.

Steven Lawrence Brice, Sr., was born on September 27, 1975, to William Lawrence Brice and Yvonne (Brice) Rolfe in Oklahoma City, OK. Steven accepted Christ at an early age at True Vine Missionary Baptist Church where he became a member of the Youth and Senior Chroirs and was a drummer. Later in life he became a member of Fifth Street Missionary Baptist Church where he was an ordained Deacon. Steven attended school in the Oklahoma City Public School System and was a part of the 1993 graduating class of Star Spencer High School where he played the Tom-Toms drums for the "Mighty Mighty Bobcat Marching Band." Steven went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Nazarene University. In his later years, Steven was a member of various masonic organizations. He was a Master Mason of King David Lodge #50, Member of Council of Deliberation, Member of the Shrine, and a 33rd Degree Mason. Steven was the youngest son of six siblings. Growing up, Steven honored his mother--she was his calming place. It was apparent by the way you could locate him at her house either sitting at the table reading the newspaper or laying in the den on the floor relaxing -- he adored the presence of his mother. Steven was a genuine family man. His friends never came short of family either, because they were family to him as well. His life motto was "family comes first" and you knew this by the way he embraced and loved everyone that he came in contact with. He also cherished his relationships with them as well by being a cheerleader, an encourager, a confidant, an advisor, and a helping hand. There was nothing Steven would not do for them. If he had it, it was theirs or anyone's for that matter. Under the guidance of his mentor and step-father, the late Reverend Doctor Henry Robert Rolfe, Jr., he developed a passion for mortuary science and was part of the Rolfe Funeral Home, Inc., family for 26 years and served thousands of bereaved families, where he would always take the time out to seek counsel from the Lord before tending to each case. He knew this was important because this was a family's final memory. Steven met his beautiful wife, CheRita, while attending Star Spencer High School. It was Steven's senior year and CheRita's freshman year. There was no playing hard to get because after CheRita graduated in 1996, they were united in Holy Matrimony on May 23, 1997. Steven made sure that his wife received the best part of him -- his vulnerable side, humorous side (you could ALWAYS catch them cracking and sharing a joke), sensitive side, and not so perfect side. Steven and CheRita were the perfect example of "nobody's perfect, but you're perfect for me." CheRita brought out Steven's fiery spark and Steven was CheRita's calm side. They were the perfect opposites. On July 26, 2006, Steven Lawrence Brice, Jr., "Spanky" was born. This was when true joy took place in Steven's life. Steven poured his everything into Spanky and instilled in him the true value of manhood. There was nothing Spanky could not have, nor anything Spanky could not achieve, because Steven made sure that Spanky received his best. Aside from family time, Steven had a true passion for cars and four wheelers. He was a member of the car clubs: Low Sensation and Skyz The Limit. Steven was welcomed into eternity on May 8, 2018. He was preceded in death by his father, William Lawrence Brice; step-father, Reverend Henry Rolfe, Jr.; and grandparents on both maternal and paternal sides. He leaves to celebrate his homegoing, his loving and devoted wife, CheRita Brice; his son, Steven Lawrence Brice, Jr. "Spanky"; his mother, Yvonne Rolfe; four sisters and one brother: Cheryl Bruner (Nick), Debora Crawford, Denard Pendleton, Trina Davis, and Caris Rolfe-Johnson (Leon); a host of beautiful nieces, handsome nephews, great-nieces and nephews, a tribe of loving aunts, uncles, great aunts, cousins, and friends, who he cherished as his brothers and sisters. Remember you ALL were special in Steven's eyes.
