Mrs. Toni Antionette Hill-Young

On July 24, 1963 Toni Antoinette Hill-Young was born to Franklin and Annette Hill. She was affectionately known to family as “Missie”. Toni was the second child born to this union. Toni was reared by her maternal grandmother the late Annie Mae Dixon in the community of Chilesville. As a young lady Toni accepted Christ into her life at Valley Grove Baptist Church in Boley, OK. Toni later joined her family at the Fairview Baptist Church of Oklahoma City, OK under the direction of Rev. Dr. John A. Reed Sr. Pastor. Toni attended Boley Public Schools where she graduated in 1981 with honors. After High School, Toni enrolled and graduated from Langston University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration in 1985. While a student at Langston University, Toni was active in student activities but her passions were her friendships and her sorority. Toni pledged Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated in 1983 and remained active until she transitioned “Beyond The Wall”. Toni met the love of her life in a young man named Eric Young in 1983 and they wed in 1987, to this union 2 children were born, Jamelle and Erica. Toni was both a proud mother and grandmother. As a grandmother she was at her best, mimicking the same love and affection that she learned from her mother and grandmother. Toni worked in a managerial capacity for Oklahoma City University for 23 years and then Mid America Christian University for 6 years. She enjoyed her work with young college students, often sharing her stories of her years as a young Langston Lion. In addition to her Alpha Kappa Alpha sisterhood, Toni was also a member of The Order of Eastern Star District 6: Spring Rose Chapter #79, and many other parent organizations where her children and grandchildren participated. On August 20, 2019 Toni exchanged a life of labor for her eternal reward. Toni was preceded in death by her father, Franklin D. Hill; and brother Marquise Marzett. Toni leaves to cherish her memories, her mother Annette Marzett (Larry); husband, Eric Young; children Jamelle Sr. and Erica Young; God-children, Javette Davis, Lamont McLaurin Jr., and Montrell Comeaux; siblings, Franklin “Ty” Hill (Annette), Gwendolyn “JoAnn” Hill and Viola Dixon, Thryl Marzett (Jokeeta), Michelle Gilbert (Ken); In-laws, Rod Kindred (Kellye), Carla Young and Annette Bly; grandchildren, Joshua, Jordan, Camille, Kamryn, Christian, Khloe, Jamelle Jr., Zahra, Lamont III, Ryan, Amiya; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
