Mrs. Tracee Michelle Rayburn

Tracee Michele Rodgers-Rayburn was born on March 10, 1969 to Netty and Dwayne Rodgers in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was the first grandchild of Frank and Eula Rodgers and took joy in loving three generations of grandparents. She attended public and private schools in Tulsa, OK and Dallas, TX. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1987. Tracee was very talented and extremely active in extracurricular activities. She had a beautiful voice and skilled dance moves. While in high school, she was a member of the Select Chorus, T-Connection Band, Elite Majorette Squad and various singing and dance groups. However, these talents were not her greatest gifts because she also possessed a warm, humble spirit. While attending college, Tracee was crowned Miss Black and Gold State and Regional Queen for Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. She also served as Miss Black OU. Tracee became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. where she served as Basileus and Dean of Pledges. In 1992, Tracee graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a B.S. Degree in Information Sys- tems. Upon graduation, Tracee moved to Texas where she developed professional management skills and was employed by several companies in the Dallas area including Sun Oil Company and AT&T. In 1995, Tracee met Tony D. Rayburn at an OU alumni function. They were later united in marriage. Their loving family includes three children: Jordan, Jared and Tony, II. Tracee always tried to instill strong values in her own children as well as nieces and nephews. Her love for life was phenomenal. In 2006, Tracee and her family moved to Oklahoma City where she became co-owner of Auntie's Child Care, Inc. She developed a passion for those with special needs and in 2014 began working with special needs students at Deer Creek High School. One of Tracee's favorite phrases was: "It takes a village to raise a child" and she constantly demonstrated her belief in this phrase. At the time of her brief illness, she was pursuing a graduate degree in Rehabilitation counseling at Langston University. Tracee will be remembered fondly for her common sense, wit, humor, and ability to make others feel better about themselves. Tracee was highly respected by persons whose lives she touched. Her faith in God, strength, and sense of purpose were resilient and radiant. She will always be remembered as a "phenom- enal woman." Tracee leaves to celebrate her life and legacy, her husband of 21 years, Tony Sr.; daughter, Jordan; sons Jared and Tony, II; mother, Netty Rogers (Willie); father, Dwayne Rodgers; siblings, Tony (DeAndre), Dana, and LeRon; grandmother, Eula Rodgers; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, "adopted" children, relatives and friends.
